Meteorological Tower Raised!
I am very happy to report that our Meteorological Tower is now standing and recording data at the Chrysler Proving Grounds in Sylvan Township south of Chelsea. Every day, a data logger will transmit packets of information to us that contain all the wind measurements for the previous day for all of our sensors on the tower. There are 2 anemometers each at 50, 60, 70 and 80 meters, plus we are taking humidity, temperature and solar radiation data. Every month we will post averages for the previous month so the public can follow the results (so make sure to stop back and check out the progress). At the end of 12 months, we will be producing an investment grade report which will detail, based on thee wind data for the year, just how economically viable it would be to develop turbines near the proving grounds. Also, we expect the 80 meter data to significantly improve the accuracy and precision of the state-wide wind maps for this area.
