Chrysler Joins the Project
Chrysler, LLC has agreed to partner with the Washtenaw County to test the wind for the potential to develop wind power. With this partnership, Chrysler has agreed to pay for half the cost of the meteorolgical tower, as well as host the tower on the Chelsea Proving Grounds. Chrysler, which has several initiatives exploring green energy altenatives, including growing biofuels, is interested in exploring the potential for powering its facilities with renewable energy as part of a new corporate strategy to be green. After a year of studying the wind, we will know if the area is capable of supporting those efforts. This exciting partnership further illustrates just how important wind power has become.
