The Wet Meadow Project grew from children's concerns about the environment. Children from Blossom Home Preschool and throughout the surrounding neighborhoods have been active in the Huron River Watershed Council's Adopt-A-Stream program. From observations and measurements, they noticed how Mallet's Creek is harmed by excessive stormwater runoff. Children also noticed soil erosion and other drainage problems at Buhr Park. They came up with a solution that will improve both the park and the creek. Children have been important in planning, publicizing and building the wet meadow, and will help to care for it.
