Rebuild America Logo
Rebuild Washtenaw was the first Michigan subsidiary of the Rebuild America Program
Rebuild Washtenaw County was founded in March 2002 under a grant from the federal Department of Energy.

Overview:  Rebuild America
Rebuild America community partnerships make energy-efficiency improvements and add renewable-energy technology to commercial, government, multifamily and public-housing buildings. At the federal level, it is part of the Building Technologies Program within the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). It has several important purposes:

• Conserve energy
• Accelerate use of the best available energy technology
• Reduce air pollution
• Lower U.S. reliance on energy imports
• Save money for more productive uses
• Revitalize aging neighborhoods and infrastructure

Rebuild Washtenaw:  Our Mission
Rebuild Washtenaw supports local action plans to reduce energy costs for businesses and community organizations; and to reinvest in communities by improving buildings and stimulating the local economy.  The energy consumption of most buildings can be cut by 25 percent through retrofits and better operation.

If you are interested in receiving an energy audit for your commercial building or would like more information about the program, please email Ed Holley.
