Solid Waste Services

  • Every residential household is entitled to one free landfill pass per year for the disposal of household refuse. Each pass allows for 60 trips to the landfill. 
  • Contact: Onyx - Arbor Hills Landfill, 10690 Six Mile Rd, Northville, MI 48168. Phone: 248-349-7230 
    • Hours: Monday-Friday 6AM-5PM and Saturday 7AM-12PM.
  • For curbside service, residents are responsible for securing their own waste hauler. Some options include:
    • Hornback Recycling and Disposal Inc: 800-662-9361
    • Waste Management: 800-796-9696

Recycling Services

  • Landfill passes entitle residents to free drop-off of recyclables at the Onyx - Arbor Hills Landfill.
  • Acceptable Materials
    • Paper: Newspaper, cardboard, magazines, office paper, phone books, boxboard
    • Metals: Aluminum and tin cans
    • Plastic: #1 PET plastic, #2 HDPE plastic, bottles only. Discard caps before recycling. No #1 or #2 tubs or plastic with #3-7.
    • Clear glass and styrofoam

Yard Waste

  • Landfill passes entitle residents to free drop-off of yard waste at the Arbor Hills Landfill.
  • The compost facility is open Monday-Friday 7AM-5PM and Saturday 8AM-12PM. Call 248-305-8377 for more information.
  • Wood mulching is also available Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM and Saturday 7-11AM. Call 248-349-7230 for more information.
  • If you plan to have an open fire, visit the township office at 9600 Six Mile Rd, 248-349-1690, to obtain a permit.
