Washtenaw County Recycling Guide

Recycling has become a way of life for the residents of Washtenaw County. With some of the strongest waste reduction and recycling programs in the state, Washtenaw County communities are preventing tons of waste from unnecessary landfill disposal every day. The 26 drop-off and 13 curbside collection programs make recycling convenient and accessible to County residents. Although most communities have a recycling program, not all programs are the same. The types of materials accepted, preparation procedures and methods of collection vary by community.

This recycling guide was designed to provide useful information on local recycling programs. It lists area drop-off and curbside collection programs and a map to help you find the recycling center located closest to you, with hours of operation and a phone number for additional information.

For information on handling any special waste materials not listed in this guide, please contact the Washtenaw County Solid Waste Program at (734) 222-6874 or email Dan Moody, Solid Waste Coordinator. We'll be glad to answer your questions.
