Beginning the first Saturday in April and going through the first Saturday in December, the Home Toxics Collection Center is open Saturdays from 9 am to Noon, excluding holidays weekend (see holiday list below).  

If you are unable to attend the Saturday drop-offs, please call 734.222.6874 to schedule a drop-off appointment during the week between the hours of 8:30am and 5pm.  Showing up without an appointment will not guarantee an employee will be present, so please call ahead so we can be there to help you!! 

REMINDER: NEVER drop-off toxics without a county employee to assist you.  Leaving toxics outside the collection area fence or anywhere in the parking lot is STRICTLY PROHIBITED as it has potential for adverse environmental effects and health risks.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!     

Holidays include:

  • Memorial Weekend - 5/24/2008
  • Fourth of July Weekend - 7/5/2008
  • Labor Day Weekend -  8/30/2008
  • Thanksgiving Weekend -  11/29/2008

During the winter months, the Home Toxics Reduction Program takes items by appointment only. Please call 734-222-6874 to arrange a drop-off.

Location

The Home Toxics Reduction Center is located at the Western Washtenaw County Service Center, at 705 N. Zeeb Road (just north of exit 169 on I-94). The Center is a white shed surrounded by a green chainlink fence, on the south side of the parking lot behind the Service Center Building. (Map)  Once you arrive, please follow the signs that will lead to the collection shed.  if you arrive during the week for a scheduled appointment, please first come to the front desk (leave your toxics in your car) to confirm your arrival.
