Sustainable Business Practices

The Ypsilanti Area Chamber of Commerce advances the general welfare and sustainable prosperity of the Ypsilanti area through promotion and emphasis on the area’s economic, cultural, and educational development. The administrative office of the Chamber of Commerce reduces garbage collection by encouraging the recycling of cans, fluorescent lights, paper, and packaging materials. In addition, the Office reuses folders, mugs, utensils, and toner cartridges. In order to close the recycling loop, the Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce purchases recycled content products such as paper, file folders, business cards, and brochures. By participating in the Waste Knot Program, the Chamber of Commerce serves as a model for other Ypsilanti area businesses to join and make a commitment to sustainability.
