Sustainable Business Practices

Domino’s Farms Corporation has been recycling office paper throughout its 600,000 square foot complex for the last 12 years. In those 12 years, they have perfected their paper recycling program; over 80 tons of office paper is now recycled from the facility each year. Domino’s Farms is continuing their effort to improve their current program. In order to increase exposure to recycling, they have replaced the old recycling containers with desk-side containers to make recycling easier for employees. Employees are also provided with a “Recycling Update” to inform them of up-coming changes and which items can and cannot be recycled through their current system. Last year a plastic recycling program was added. Approximately 20 to 30 pounds of plastic are collected each week! To continue their environmentally conscious efforts to conserve energy, Domino’s Farm replaces all old-style lamps with more efficient T-8 energy efficient lamps, places external lights on timers, reduces temperatures when the building is unoccupied, and uses the right sizing motors and variable frequency drives. Also, inspections and regular maintenance of HVAC systems and plumbing fixtures avoids the unnecessary use of water and electricity.
