Sustainable Business Practices
Ann Arbor Environmental Services opperates from a home-based
office, which is more efficient in a number of ways than
operating from a separate office space. They utilize email, paperless
invoicing, and electronic documents to cut down on paper use and reuse a
number of materials, including folders, envelopes, boxes, packing
materials, toner cartridges, and paper. Recycled items include paper, cans,
scrap metal, fluorecent lights, glass, computers, cell phones, cardboard,
plastic, and yard waste. In support of the recycling process, many paper
items made with recycled materials are purchased, as are garbage bags. They
also save energy with compact fluorescent bulbs.
