Remodeling at the Recreation Center

We’re excited to announce some dramatic changes planned this summer for the Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center. After 17 years with an average daily attendance of 1,000 visitors, a new and exciting look will greet visitors as they enter the recreation center this fall. A new glass vestibule with automatic sliding doors and a new, larger information desk just inside the front entrance, will improve customer service and the flow of visitors at peak times. A new, comfortable seating area will also be located near the entry doors. Relocating the information desk will allow a more open floor plan and improved traffic flow in the center of the main floor. Other planned improvements to the main floor include a relocated entrance to the track and a built-in coat storage area along the east hallway. New finishes will include ceramic tile flooring in the center corridor and earth tone wallpaper with wood trim. The remodeling project is expected to begin in June and finish in September.
