Kids + No School = Day Camp at the Rec’ Center!
Did you know that
Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation offers day camp opportunities for
children throughout the year? The Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center hosts a
day camp over winter break, another week for spring break and a six week day
camp during the summer. The Recreation Center staff also host one very
special week every summer for youth who must deal with
educational or physical deficits.
A recent email to Parks & Recreation Director Bob Tetens shows just how much these programs are meeting needs of families in our community: “Thank you! Look for my kids again this summer. Your program is the best by far, and your staff is amazing! Thanks for offering such a great program (and even at a price I can afford,)”
Program activities include arts, crafts, games, sports, swimming (3 days in pool & 1 day each at Rolling Hills Water Park and Independence Lake), nature programs and special events.
- Program Eligibility: Children who have completed Kindergarten through 11 years of age
- Program Hours: 9:15 AM - 4:15 PM. Before care and after care available as well (available for one hour before and one hour after camp).
