Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission invites Scouts to take advantage of the free interpretive program opportunities offered by our Parks Naturalists.

Note: Programs are free to Scouts from Washtenaw County. However, donations are always appreciated. Out of County groups pay a program fee of $45

Scouts can schedule field trips with a general nature theme, sush as Signs of Spring, Michigan Trees, and Beginning Birdwatching; or Scout Leaders may request a program specifically tailored to pin a badge requirements. Nature Field trips can be scheduled in any of our County Parks (though some program topics are restricted to certain parks) and are available year round.

Scout Groups are also welcome to schedule a historical tour of the Parker Mill Grist Mill, a working pioneer grist mill. Grist mill tours are available May - October only.

Scout can also participate in hands-on, short tearm conservation projects that will help Girl Scouts earn their Project Planet patch or Boy Scouts earn their World Conservation Award.
(No Fee for conservation projects for out of county groups)

Note: Depending on program, Scouts may complete all or only some of requirements needed to earn a pin/patch/badge.

Program Times: Scout programs are done after school, or on weekends, depending on naturalist availability/Scouts' needs.

Other Programs may be possible, contact us with questions!
