Nominations to Washtenaw County’s Natural Areas Preservation Program are reviewed regularly by Parks Commission staff and the Natural Areas Technical Advisory Committee (NATAC).
Properties recommended by NATAC are reviewed by the Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission, the Washtenaw County Planning Advisory Board and the Local Unit of Government where the land is located. If the Commission elects to proceed with the acquisition, the landowner will be made an offer at fair market value as established by a certified appraiser. The Commission will also obtain a Phase I Environmental Assessment.

1) Contact the Parks Commission to request a "Property Nomination Package" or download the information here
2) Fax or mail the completed Nomination Form to the Parks Commission
