5k FAQs

1.  What does my registration fee include?

Your 5k Run/Walk registration fee includes a participant t-shirt (sizes will only be guaranteed if you register by September 17th, 2016), your race bib with chip timing provided by Running Fit Timing, and after race refreshments.

2. What awards will be given?

5k medals will be given to 1st place runners for both male and female categories (ages under 15, ages 15-24, ages 25-34, ages 35-44, and 45 and older, overall male, and overall female).  Kids' Run/Walk participants will each be given a ribbon.

3.  My child is enrolled in the 1 Mile Kids' Run/Walk.  May I run/walk the course with them?

Absolutely!  There will be no extra fee for parents to walk or run with their children.  T-shirts and ribbons will only be given to registered child participants.

4.  How old must my child be to register for the 1 Mile Kids' Run/Walk?

Children must be between the ages of 4 and 12 to participate in the 1 Mile Kids' Run/Walk.

5.  Does this event support any organization or cause?

The Park It and Run! event is organized to support the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission.  We are constantly looking for new ways to keep costs down for the services that we are able to provide, including (but not limited to) special events, park entrance fees, gym memberships, naturalist programs, facility maintenance and development, etc. Support your local county park by registering today!

6.  How do I register for a Park It and Run! event?

7.  Is there an extra fee for online registration?

There is no extra fee associated with online registration.  We understand that people are busy, so we try to make the registration process as painless and easy as possible at no additional fee.

8.  How do I show my support by volunteering?

The Park It and Run! event relies on volunteers to make everything happen.  Please see our volunteer page for more information on volunteer positions and contact information.  All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt!

9.  Where do I park?

Parking is located inside Independence Lake County Park.  Parking right next to the starting point will be limited, but there will be additional parking within the park that is roughly a half mile from the starting point that is available.  **Please note: Independence Lake County Park will charge a vehicle entrance fee to all participants.  Vehicle entry fees can be found here.

10.  I need to cancel my registration.  How do I do this, and will I receive a refund?

We do not issue refunds for cancelled registrations.  However, you may transfer your registration to another person if you would like.  Please contact Lyla at ellensl@ewashtenaw.org or (734)449-4437 x 203 for more details on this process.
