Family Campout Flyer 2017
Family Campout (Saturday, September 9th- Sunday, September 10th, 2017, 2pm-10am)

Are you looking for a great opportunity to spend a night out under the stars with your family? Join us for the Independence Lake County Park Family Campout! You'll enjoy fun activities like crafts, relaxing fishing at the dock, intriguing nature programs, delicious s'mores, a sizzling campfire and a scrumptious pancake breakfast! You won't want to miss out on this spectacular event. Cost is $8/person, click here to download the paper registration form.

Bugs and Their Buddies (Saturday, September 16th, 10am-12pm)                                                                                    
Enjoy insects and arachnids before they disappear for the winter. Ages 5 and up are welcome to join Naturalist Kelsey Dehring for this family friendly event. You'll learn the characteristics of an insect and go sweep netting for creepy crawlies that call the prairie home. Vehicle entry is required. Pre-registration is required. Limit 15 people. 

Big Foot, Small Print Trail Run (Saturday, September 30th, 8am - 12pm) Big Foot, Small Print Trail Run
Washtenaw County Parks & Recreation Commission is partnering with the Huron River Watershed Council in the Big Foot Small Print Trail Run to further support healthy and vibrant communities in Washtenaw County. Enjoy the beautiful fall colors that Independence Lake County Park has to offer while running or walking this scenic 4 mile course. This event offers a 1 mile kid’s fun run/walk for children all ages, so bring the whole family!  Proceeds will benefit the Huron River Watershed Council.

Looking for a little mystery this fall? Come visit Scarecrow Lane, where you can solve a mystery, and enjoy family friendly activities! Activities include: building your own scarecrow, participating in crafts, conquering the Halloween obstacle course, competing in a spider toss, and enjoying delicious cider and doughnuts. You won’t want to miss out on this WCPARC original event! Paper registration & online registration (Coming Soon!).

Red Hawk Glow Disc Golf Tournament (Saturday,November 4th, 5pm - 10pm)

Join us for the 2nd Annual Red Hawk Glow Disc Golf Tournament on Saturday, November 4th.  This is the only after-hours disc golf tournament hosted at Independence Lake Park each year.  Red Hawk’s newly added 12 holes will be featured in this 24 hole disc golf tournament lit by glow sticks.  Registration includes vehicle entry to Independence Lake Park, reusable scorecard and exclusive disc golf towel and mini glow disc branded with the new Red Hawk course logo. The top 20% of players for each division will receive awarded payouts in disc golf discs.  Register at discgolfscene.com. $30 per person cash only on day of event.  Contact Julie at pahlj@ewashtenaw.org for more details.
