Please observe the following etiquette to help make our dog park a safe and
enjoyable place for everyone.
-
Pay attention to your dogs interaction with other dogs. Be aware of
potential problems. Learn to read and respond to your dogs behavior.
-
Be alert to the behavior of other dogs. Remember that other owners might
not be as diligent as you.
-
Train your dog so that it responds to voice commands, even while playing
with other dogs.
-
As a part of their normal socialization, dogs will bark, snarl, or even
snap at each other. Interfere and stop the behavior if it appears to be
escalating.
-
Immediately stop any aggressive behavior towards humans.
-
Always open and close the dog park gate carefully.
-
Do not bring your dog to the park if it is sick, has parasites, or has
fleas.
-
Do not allow your dog to jump on people.
-
Do not allow your dog to bark excessively.
-
Keep food out of the enclosure. Dogs may become overly protective or
aggressive.
-
Extend common courtesy to all other users.
-
Vaccinate dogs per the recommendations of your veterinarian.
-
Please abide by the rules and recommendations regarding children. Dog
parks are not a place for small children.
-
Please follow all of the rules in this brochure, as well as, those posted
at the dog park.
-
Prevent dogs from digging or otherwise damaging property.
-
Please maintain the safety of the transfer gate system. Do not enter if
another dog is within the transfer area. Call your dog away from the
gates as other dogs are entering or exiting the park.
-
In addition to rabies, it is strongly recommended that all dogs be
current with distemper and parvovirus vaccinations.
-
Dog owners should respect the wishes of other park patrons regarding the
conduct of their dogs.
-
Dogs should not be allowed on benches, these are for people, not dogs.
-
Harsh, physical reprimands of dogs are inappropriate and may be subject
to being reported to the proper authorities.
-
Parents If you bring your children to the dog park, please teach them
how to behave with animals and what to do in an emergency. Do not allow
them to run and make noise in the park.
