Swimming
During the summer (from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day) swimming is available at Independence Lake and Rolling Hills Parks.

Independence Lake offers a large
clean swim area, over 300' long with a sandy lake bottom. It has a sandy
beach that is great for sand castles. There is now a shower at
the beach for your convenience after your swim. A spray zone is also available for
water play. |

From Memorial Day Weekend to Labor Day, Rolling Hills Park offers one of the best swimming opportunities in Washtenaw County. The 8-acre water park features a wave pool, three water slides, a 750 foot lazy river, waterfall, geysers, two spraygrounds, sand play area and affordable concessions. Throughout the year the Meri Lou Murray Recreation Center's 6,000 square foot pool, which combines both a lap and leisure area, is a popular venue for aquatic exercise and or relaxation. The pool is 25 yards in length and is 3 1/2' at the shallow end and 6 1/2' at the deep end. |
