Parks and Recreation
The Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission (WCPARC), in partnership with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR), officially dedicated the Watkins Lake State Park and County Preserve as Michigan’s 103rd state park at a ribbon-cutting event on Wednesday, October 26th.
We're going to blow your thermal socks off with tons of activities and events for the whole family! We'll be celebrating the cold weather season at various destinations throughout Washtenaw County. Whether you like warming up by the fireplace with a cup of hot cocoa or tromping through the freshly fallen snow, we've got something for everyone to enjoy.
With more 12,000 miles of recreational trails, Michigan is quickly becoming known as “The Great Trails State”. These trails allow users to experience our rich natural, cultural, and historic resources. The diversity of available trails appeals to folks with various time commitments, fitness levels, and sense of adventure: whether one wants to backpack for multiple weeks or bicycle on Washtenaw County’s Border-to-Border Trail (B2B) for a day—there is something for everyone.
