Doing More With Less: Low Vision and You

Washtenaw County Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled and Mobile Eyes, Ann Arbor, are hosting a programs at public libraries, retirement centers, consumer groups and nursing homes. The programs are free-of-charge and are open to the general public.

Doing More With Less: Low Vision and You features Cheryl Terpening Frueh, Occupational Therapist, Owner and Operator of Mobile Eyes;  and Margaret Wolfe, Librarian Coordinator, Washtenaw County Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled.

Doing More With Less is aimed at individuals who are experiencing vision loss and their families. Attendees learn about eye conditions most associated with low vision and steps toward independence including low and high tech solutions.  Ms. Frueh emphasizes her role as an occupational therapist working with low vision individuals and their families in order to maintain personal independence.  She also demonstrates and sells high and low tech items that will make daily life easier for individuals with with visual disabilities.  Ms. Wolfe talks about how to obtain free books and magazines on tape through the U.S. Postal Service and other resources in the local community.
