Events and Programs: Many Ways of Seeing

This workshop is open to individuals of all ages who are blind, have low vision, or have physical disabilities.  In this workshop, participants will create works of art using clay.  Sessions are held once a week for 12 weeks.  Each session lasts two hours.

Attendees are paired with a student from the University of Michigan's art school.  The students receive school credit for the class Teaching Art to the Blind and Visually Impaired and learn to develop sensitivity toward other ways of perception and expression.  It also allows the participant to develop their artistic abilities.  Working together, both the students and participants experience increased confidence.

These sessions are facilitated at LBPD by U-M Associate Professor Sadashi Inuzuka, who is also visually impaired.
