Playback equipment is loaned at no charge to consumers as long as recorded materials are borrowed from the Library.
Cassette machines are designed for cassette books and magazines recorded at 15/16 ips as well as the standard cassette speed of 1-7/8 ips on 2 and 4 tracks.
Consumers with very limited mobility may request a remote-control unit. Hearing-impaired consumers are eligible for an auxiliary amplifier for use with headphones. A cassette machine designed primarily for persons with limited manual dexterity is also available.
Washtenaw County Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled
repairs and maintains all equipment at no cost to the consumer.
