TITLE: Day Camp Counselor

GRADE: Exempt

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of a higher classified employee counselors are responsible for providing supervision, planning and leading activities, record keeping and simple first aid. Games and activities include swimming, crafts, sports and day trips. Counselors work in pairs and together are responsible for supervising a group of 20 children, ages 6-11 years of age, in an outdoor camp setting.

EXPERIENCE: At least one year of experience supervising children is required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Must have a positive attitude, enjoy working with children, have plenty of enthusiasm, smiles and good problem-solving skills. Must be able to work and interact with fellow counselors, children, and parents. A valid Michigan driver’s license is required. Certificates in first aid and CPR are preferred.
