Washtenaw County Michigan Works! offers a comprehensive array of services designed to support individuals in making smooth job and career transitions throughout their lifetime.  Programs are tailored to meet the unique needs of participants, whether youth (ages 14 to 21), adults seeking entry level employment opportunities, or experienced workers transitioning from one job or industry to another..


Services for Workers in Transition:

The Michigan Works! Career Transition Center offers anyone, over the age of 18, the opportunity to participate in programs and services designed to support individuals through a job change or career transition. The Career Transition Center is your one stop for staff-assisted career transition services including comprehensive workshops, guest speakers, job clubs, free wireless internet, Veteran's Services, job fairs, unemployment registration, and tuition assistance (when funding is available).

Services for Individuals Receiving Cash or Food Assistance:

The Michigan Works! Service Center offers employment training programs for eligible participants, referred by the Department of Human Services, who are receiving cash or food assistance.  The programs are designed to support individuals in gaining the skills to obtain and retain employment in the local community.

Services for Youth, Ages 14 to 21:

The Michigan Works! Service Center offers a variety of employment training programs and services to support youth in exploring career options, considering education and training opportunities, implementing effective job search strategies, obtaining internships and limited work experiences, and building the skills to support self-sufficiency.  Programs are open to youth, ages 14 to 21, who meet family or individual income eligibility requirements.
