Training for Adults
Do you want to change careers? Are you out of work? Do you need training for a new job or career? If so, etcs offers both information and a range of resources to assist you.
All Washtenaw County residents have access to:

Free workshops and on-line resources to help you learn how to find a job.
Support includes writing a resume, learning to use on-line search tools, and interviewing techniques.
- Information about current area job openings! Many area employers use the etcs-MichiganWorks! Center to find their new employees.
Classroom training is available for people who want more training and education to find a better job or new occupation. If you have had trouble holding a job or never finished high school, training is available to help you be more employable, to learn basic skills, prepare for the GED or become more proficient in English with English-as-a-second-language classes.
Work Experience programs are available if you need to learn more about the world of work or to practice new occupational skills before looking for a job.Job search assistance, job search skills training and job club activities are available to help people find, obtain, or retain a job. If you – or someone you know- has had trouble finding and keeping a job, etcs offers programs and services that encourage the use of, employment and training services; job search assistance; job counseling; programs to develop positive work habits; and other services to individuals to help them obtain and keep a job.
Supportive Services are provided to eligible participants who have educational, income and personal circumstances that require greater assistance.
Lost your Job? – If the company that you worked for closed or laid-off staff, then you may be able to receive special assistance. This may include a tailored assessment of your skills and education, work history and occupation. The result is an Individual Service Strategy targeted to help you find your next job through referrals and/or additional training. In addition, you may be able to receive assistance with child care, transportation, and financial/personal counseling.
