Career Change Boot Camps

September marks the beginning of the Fall 2007 schedule for the popular Career Change Boot Camps. These one day sessions provide Ann Arbor Region/Washtenaw County residents with an opportunity to explore their options and learn about resources that are available within the community. Previous Career Change Boot Camps have provided participant with the opportunity to learn about opportunities and resources as well as to network.

Ten Career Change Boot Camps have already been held with overflow registrations. Past comments included- “the program was excellent overall. Not only did it provide useful information, it also provided good contacts and networking opportunities.” “ I thought that the speakers were very motivational.”

Starting Your Own Business – September 19 - This program will help you create a marketing plan for your business, learn about legal, accounting, franchises, business plans and financing options. You will receive one on one counseling with a business expert and have an opportunity to get advice from a variety of business experts and organizations that are available to support new ventures.

Career Change Exploration, October 1 - Not sure what career to choose? Find out how you can apply what you know to new industries, build a network of like-minded professionals, and explore opportunities for job growth and education.

Careers in Health Care, October 8 - Health care is one of the fastest growing career areas. Learn about health-related jobs and their requirements.

Careers in Information Technology, October 15 - Information Technology is a growing field in the Ann Arbor region. Learn about IT jobs that are available and what it takes to get them.

All of the sessions will be held at Washtenaw Community College, Morris Lawrence Building from 9:30 am - 4 pm. Class size is limited to 25 people on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a $25 fee per workshop and scholarships are available for qualified individuals. Continental breakfast and lunch are provided.
