Water Testing Fees & Services

Please call the Department of Planning and Environment at (734) 222-3800 before sampling your water. You will need to obtain a special sampling bottle from the Service Center, located at 705 N. Zeeb Road in Ann Arbor. Service Center staff will instruct you on proper sampling procedures. Once the sample has been taken, return the bottle to the Service Center. Keep in mind that turn-around-times for test results vary.

Available Water Quality Tests and Fees - Please note that expedited Arsenic, Nitrate, and Nitrite testing now result in a 2-day turnaround time.

Other tests may be available at Planning and Environment, so please call for more information. In addition, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality Laboratory offers testing services and resources, including a list of certified laboratories who may offer additional testing services not provided by Washtenaw County.

Note: There is a fee of $53 per sample, in addition to the fee listed, if the sample is collected by Planning and Environment personnel.
