Sustainable Business Practices

In addition to providing Ann Arbor residents with premium transportation services, SelectRides waste reduction policies make it a leader in the field of recycling as well. SelectRide recycles typical office products, including folders, envelopes, paper, and toner cartridges in addition to recovering the waste oil used by its transportation fleet. SelectRide also recycles other materials used in its office, including glass and plastic, through Recycle Ann Arbor, which empties the companys three recycling bins once a week. SelectRide ensures participation of its 65 employees by selecting a designated employee to oversee waste reduction and by publishing a written statement defining waste reduction practices. Additionally, SelectRide purchases copier paper, envelopes, file folders and cardboard boxes made of recycled contents in order to close the loop in their waste reduction program.
