Sustainable Business Practices

Malloy Inc. is a book manufacturing company located in Ann Arbor. Besides more common waste reduction practices, they also purchase ink, press wash, fountain solution and glue in bulk totes to help reduce the amount of packaging waste produced. These various totes are also reused by the company to further reduce waste. Other items such as folders, envelopes, boxes, toner cartridges and packing materials are used and paper with printing on one side is turned into note pads. Malloy Inc. operates a waste oil recovery system and recycles paper, cardboard, batteries, printing plates, film and metal from their machine shop. Malloy Inc. also closes the recycling loop by purchasing many products made with recycled content materials. So many items are recycled at Malloy that a semi trailer of recycling is collected daily from the facility. Over 98% of the material Malloy discards is recycled.  Malloy is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and SFI (Sustainable Forestry Initiative) certified.
