Organization Overview

The Leslie Science Center provides natural science and environmental education opportunities for youth and their families. The Center is situated on 50 acres of fields, woods and prairie in the heart of Ann Arbor. The education programs are outdoors, hands-on and discovery-based. Programs are offered for school groups, scouts, community and church groups as well as the general public. We also offer a variety of nature oriented birthday parties and camps. New to our site as of 2007 is the addition of a raptor program!  14 birds of prey currently live in outdoor flight enclosures and can be visited during day light hours.

Sustainable Practices

The Leslie Science Center provides natural science and environmental education opportunities for youth and their families. The Science Center site features the environmentally friendly Nature House building equipped with solar panels, carpeting made from recycled plastic bottles, countertops made from soy resin, and compostable toilets. The staff at the Science Center not only practice reducing, reusing, and recycling, they teach it to the thousands of youth that visit the site each year.  New to our site as of 2007 is the addition of a raptor program!  14 birds of prey currently live in outdoor flight enclosures and can be visited during day light hours.
