Sustainable Business Practices

JAC Products is a leading producer of automotive luggage racks in the United States. JAC Products has recently recertified two of their plants as ISO 14001 compliant and passed their first annual audit at one plant without any non-conformities. Waste reduction practices such as double-sided printing, electronic based documents and e-mail are all employed and a wide variety of materials reused. Items such as cardboard, plastic, metals, wood and packaging materials are also collected for recycling at the facility and meetings are held to discuss the reduction of scrap. Where existing laws and regulations are thought inadequate in assuring the protection of employees or the environment, JAC Products will establish and meet its own higher Health, Safety and Environment standards. They have contracts that specify recycled content when available to complete the recycling loop. To conserve energy, JAC Products purchases ENERGY STAR equipment, places external lights on timers, performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment, and reduces temperatures when the building is unoccupied.
