Sustainable Business Practices

The passionate and energetic staff of Iris Waste Diversion Specialists actively promotes and lives as waste-free as possible while making a conscious effort to serve as an environmentally responsible model for our clients and others. Iris staff actively volunteers in programs that promote waste reduction activities.

Energy conservation is achieved through the use of natural day-lighting, T-8 full spectrum bulbs for room lighting and compact fluorescent bulbs in desk lamps, all computers and printers are turned off when not in use, heating and cooling (when in use) is adjusted to EPA recommended settings, and the company car is a hybrid.

Pollution prevention activities include the use of non-toxic cleaning materials and proper disposal of hazardous products.

Waste reduction efforts include reuse of one-sided paper as the default for office printing whereas final documents are printed on 100% post-consumer recycled content chlorine free paper. It is a priority to purchase reused and recycled content office products and furniture while seeking reuse/recycling options for unwanted items.
