Womens Center of SEMI
The Jean Ledwith King Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan is a non-profit grassroots resource center for women girls and families. We help more than 600 individuals every year.
As a major human service provider in Southeast Michigan, we offer a critical safety net of integrated services:
· Personal counseling
· Job coaching
· Tax return assistance
· Divorce support
Counseling is the centerpiece of our service offerings. We are one of only three providers in Washtenaw county with manageable fees for low-income, uninsured or under-insured adults.
We know our programs are successful when participants move from weariness to strength; from confusion to understanding; from despair to hope. “Success” is the ability to live, work, learn, and participate fully in one’s family and community, despite life’s challenges.
Sustainable Business Practices
The Jean Ledwith King Women’s Center of Southeastern Michigan was established in 2000 and as a small non-profit organization, we rely heavily on donations . As a result, nearly everything in our offices is on its second life. Reused computers, furniture, books, magazines, reference materials and paper are utilized at the Center. In-house documents are reused by printing on the reverse side. We recycle everything we can. We only donate to organizations who share our philosophy to leave the planet in better shape than we found it. We are committed to the environment and share this commitment with our employees, volunteers and supporters.
