Business Overview

Washtenaw Woodwrights is a full service design/build remodeling company with offices and a showroom located in Ann Arbor. We work hard to understand your thoughts and needs before we ever break ground. From start to finish, our goal is to translate your ideas into realities that are functional, aesthetically pleasing, and within your budget. From back-porch additions to full-home remodeling, we strive to make the process of house transformation as worry-free and painless as possible. Founded in 1983 by Bruce Curtis, our company is made up of a team of people who are passionate about what they do. Our staff brings a wealth of interesting and valuable experience to each project: awards from national remodeling associations and publications, certifications from the National Kitchen and Bath Association, the National Association of Home Builders, and more. Visit our showroom and you will find creative displays where you can explore many styles of cabinetry, countertop materials, flooring, and other decorative materials. With the hundreds of samples to choose from in one convenient setting, we help take the headache out of home remodeling design. Showroom hours are Monday through Friday, 10 am to 6 pm, or by appointment. To schedule a free no obligation consultation in your home, call us at 734.994.8797.

Sustainable Business Practices

At Washtenaw Woodwrights, the very essence of what we do, remodel versus building new structures, is by its nature a green business practice. Energy efficiency is at the forefront of each project we design and many incorporate a multitude of green materials from reclaimed lumber and recycled glass tiles to low VOC paint finishes and formaldehyde-free cabinets. We attempt to incorporate the use of existing fixtures and materials whenever possible. We embrace the use of sustainable flooring materials and ambient lighting through the use of skylights and light pipes. In our showroom, a recycled old paint warehouse that weve painstakingly transformed using many of these elements, we offer an extensive selection of green products and materials. We use recycled stationary, recycle our office waste paper, and reuse office supplies whenever possible. At our job sites, we make every effort to recover usable tear out items and construction waste and redistribute it to Recycle Ann Arbor, Habitat for Humanity Restore, and other venues to reduce our contribution to area landfills. We are a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
