Sustainable Practices

The Rudolf Steiner School of Ann Arbor is a Waldorf school offering a PreK-12 education program.  Faculty and students are responsible for executing the school's recycling program. The seventh grade students are responsible for collecting recyclable materials such as cans, paper, glass, and cardboard from classrooms, which all have recycling bins.  Students also reuse scrap paper for notes and compost all of the vegetable food waste generated during their morning snack and lunch. The gardening class is taught using pesticide free and Bio-Dynamic methods. Print cartridges are also recycled. Furniture throughout the school has been purchased from resale shops. Rudolf Steiner School also donates all Lost and Found items not claimed after 45 days to charity instead of discarding items.
