The recycling program at Lincoln was solely driven by several environmentally conscious students. These students successfully implemented cardboard and fluorescent light recycling as well as the extensive purchase of recycled products and reuse of many items. Some recycled content supplies include: paper, envelopes, files, hand towels, toilet and paper. As a result of the student efforts, the school upgraded to a more energy efficient light system. Lincoln schools was rewarded an honorable mention for Excellence in Waste Reduction and Recycling in Washtenaw County in 2005.
