Business Overview

Altech Mechanical Service provides installation and service of Commercial Heating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration systems. We base our daily business decisions on Customer Satisfaction, with Energy use and Efficiency also as our top priorities. We promote environmental control systems that provide comfort while using the least amount of energy.

Sustainable Practices

The largest portion of energy usage in a typical commercial or residential structure can be attributed to the heating and cooling system(s), because of this, we feel that we have a responsibility to service and maintain equipment to its maximum efficiency potential. We take this responsibility seriously.

Altech Mechanical Service technicians are highly trained, for example, they are trained and certified to handle and recover refrigerant during servicing of equipment containing CFCs. The recovered CFCs are then contained and disposed of properly. This recovery process is mandated by the EPA. During a typical demolition project, we also take an additional step to remove the oil from the system before recycling the unit.

Altech Mechanical service technicians, as part of the repair or servicing process, return; mercury from thermostats, batteries, waste oil, antifreeze fluid.

The Altech Mechanical Service Office makes efforts to use less. These efforts include designing our building to require less heating and cooling by adding additional insulation, Installing energy efficient HVAC equipment, setback thermostats, space temperature zoning. We have designed and plan to incorporate Solar Heating and PV into our existing office.

Along with using less, we recycle what we do use, including, paper, cardboard, printer cartridges, fluorescent bulbs, wood pallets and crates. We rely on Washtenaw County and Ann Arbor Recycle for majority of our recycle needs.
