United States Attacked by Terrorists
September 11, 2001

Due to terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001, the Chairperson of the Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners, the Chief Judge and the County Administrator decided to close all of Washtenaw County Government Buildings at 12:00 Noon, except for critical 24-hour facilities and public safety services.

Although the Washtenaw County Emergency Operations Center was activated in conjunction with the state EOC and numerous other centers across the nation, there were no local threats made and no additional unusual incidents were reported.

All county operated buildings were open for business the following day.
