Human Services

The Office of Community Development administers Federal, State and Local grants to secure the safety net for low-income and/or homeless housholds and individuals in Washtenaw County through the following ways:  

• Coordinating with the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation and the United Way of Washtenaw to contract with nonprofit organizations to deliver essential services through the Coordinated Funding process.
• Working with the the City of Ann Arbor's Housing and Human Services Advisory Board and the Washtenaw Urban County Executive Commitee to develop and implement community-wide goals and initiatives.
• Partnering with the Washtenaw Continuum of Care to develop and implement HUD's SHP, SPC and ESG grants as well as MSHDA's ESG grant.
