Access Points
Welcome to the Michigan Works! Access Points!
|
We are working with the leaders of community and faith-based organizations to open Access Points across the County. Access Points provide residents with information and services to help find a job and explore education and training options. Thus far more than a dozen local churches and community groups have signed on to become an Access Point. Access Points are satellite offices located in churches and other community locations that are outfitted with computers linked to a streamlined menu of services/information and staffed by trained volunteers. To date, more than 30 volunteers have gone through the Access Point training. Among the information and services that residents can obtain via an Access Point are access to online resources to help in their job search; assistance with resume writing; and information about education and training opportunities. Organizations or churches interested in learning more about becoming an Access Point can contact at Tiffany Lucas at 734.222.3722. Learn more about what the federal government and the State of Michigan are doing to support the Access Points through the Share Network program at http://www.michigan.gov/sharenetwork
