Washtenaw County Office of Community and Economic Development Annual Report Now Available

Washtenaw County’s Office of Community and Economic Development (OCED) recently released the 2013-2014 Annual report on their efforts to improve the lives of Washtenaw County Residents, noting that in 2014, 43,250 individuals were served by OCED and its program partners.
The report outlines the work OCED does collaborating with community partners to leverage resources, direct service delivery, and provide policy development in the areas of affordable housing and housing choice, workforce and economic development, human services, housing and community infrastructure, and working to meet the basic needs of county residents.
The Annual Report features several programs run by OCED including owner-occupant housing rehabilitation, jobseeker services, homelessness prevention, and many more. According to the report, in 2014, 3,750 households were stabilized, 682 people found new employment, and 43,250 individual people were reached by OCED and its partner programs. In dollars, the Annual $16.5 million budget leveraged another $105 million in services.
