• A Second Look at Alleviating Jail Overcrowding: A Systems Perspective - U.S. Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Monograph (October 2000) describes how public safety and justice system officials have responded to the challenges of the past 15 years to minimize jail overcrowding.
• Michigan Task Force on Jail and Prison Overcrowding Final Report - The State of Michigan Task Force on Jail and Prison Overcrowding has issued its March 2005 final report for Governor Jennifer Granholm that articulated strategies for utilizing jail and prison resources in a more effective and efficient manner without compromising public safety.
• CJCC Definitions Discussion - Presentation to the CJCC on Data Report Terminology (September 24, 2005)
• Strategic Update - In November and December of 2005, and in January of 2006, the Committee developed strategies for 2006 as a first step toward data systems integration. The process was facilitated by Dr. Peter Dams who led strategic planning efforts for Kalamazoo County justice agencies. The purpose of these facilitated meetings was to:

- Identify and agree on benefits of system integration;

- Reach consensus that system integration is worth pursuing;

- Acknowledge that system-wide change will require agencies to change how they do business now; and

- Develop short-term integration goals for 2006.

        This report summarizes the outcomes of these meetings.

• Jail Management and Overcrowding Solutions-Presentation to the CJCC on the impact of data mismanagement on the criminal justice system, and ways to assuage this impact.
