Codes Enforced by Washtenaw County

Codes in effect as of February 29, 2004

Residential Projects:

• Building, Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Codes can be found in the "2003 Michigan Residential Code".  Washtenaw County also enforces Appendix F - Radon Control Methods.

Commercial Projects:

• Building - 2003 Michigan Building Code

• Electrical - 2003 Michigan Electrical Code (2002 NEC w/ State Part 8)

• Mechanical - 2003 Michigan Mechanical Code

• Plumbing - 2003 Michigan Plumbing Code

Note:  All commercial projects must comply with barrier-free requirements set forth in ICC/ANSI 117.1 1998
