Community Collaborative of
Washtenaw County
The Community Collaborative of Washtenaw County is a group of concerned
citizens from private, public, and non-profit sectors who come together to
find real solutions to the pressing social and community issues facing
Washtenaw County. We are committed to creating a community of dignity and
respect where all people can live to their maximum potential. The CCWC
fulfills the state requirement for the multi-purpose collaborative body.
Dispute Resolution Center of
Washtenaw County
A not-for-profit organization serving Washtenaw and Livingston Counties
that provides mediation, training and other forms of voluntary dispute
resolution for individuals and organizations as an alternative or complement
to the judicial process.
Food System Economic Partnership
(FSEP)
FSEP exists to catalyze change in the food system of Southeastern Michigan.
We provide research, education and outreach with urban and rural
partnerships, resulting in agricultural development opportunities,
sustainable communities, and healthy local economies.
Humane Society of Huron Valley
Since 1896, dedicated to promoting respect for all life and preventing
cruelty to animals.
Huron River Watershed Council
The first and oldest Watershed Council in Michigan. Services include
hands-on citizen education, technical assistance in policy development and
river protection projects.
Pittsfield Township Historical
Society
The Pittsfield Township Historical Society is dedicated to preserving and
sharing the history of Pittsfield Township and the traditions of peoples who
have lived here and/or traversed the historical roads -- the old Sauk Trail
and Maumee-Saginaw Trail -- which cross in Pittsfield Township. The
Historical Society also manages the Township Historical Archives.
Project Outreach (PORT)
A joint project between Washtenaw County, and the City of Ann Arbor
supported with funding from varied sources including the WCHO, PATH and CSTS
designed to provide mental health and other supportive services to the
homeless, mentally ill population in Washtenaw County.
River Raisin Watershed
Council
A nonprofit membership organization with a growing constituency of
individuals, businesses, municipalities and community groups seeking to
protect the natural resources of the watershed. Working in partnership
with these diverse interests, RRWC acts as a catalyst to improve the
watershed environment through planning, advocacy, education, science, and
protection of watershed lands.
Shelter Association of
Washtenaw County
The Shelter Association offers a variety of services and programs to help
individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Services range from
providing emergency shelter, referrals for substance abuse treatment,
clothing vouchers, transportation, and food to providing health care,
housing assistance, and money management.
SOS Community Services
SOS serves the entire Washtenaw County community by working with the
community to end homelessness. SOS offers services to those families in our
community who are homeless or who are experiencing housing-related crises,
including a large number of children.
Southeast Michigan Council of
Governments (SEMCOG)
SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, is the regional
planner in Southeast Michigan. SEMCOG plans in areas that cross
jurisdictional boundaries in the Southeast Michigan region that encompasses
Livingston, Macomb, Monroe, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw, and Wayne
counties.
Southwest Washtenaw Council of Governments
(SWWCOG)
SWWCOG was formed to engage in and promote joint planning and sharing of
resources for matters affecting the life, growth and business of its
participating members. Members include Freedom, Bridgewater, Manchester and
Sharon Townships, the Village of Manchester, and Manchester Community
Schools.
SPARK
Economic development organization for the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area.
Washtenaw Area Teens for Tomorrow
(WATT)
A community organization that engages and supports the youth of Washtenaw
County.
Washtenaw Area Transportation
Study
A multi-jurisdictional agency responsible for transportation planning
in Washtenaw County.
Washtenaw County Bar
Association
A voluntary association of Washtenaw County lawyers and judges. Our
committees are involved in issues relating to practice in all divisions of
the Washtenaw Trial Court, as well as planning for the courts of the
future.
Washtenaw County Conservation
District
A local agency of Michigan state government that assists Washtenaw
County landowners and residents with the conservation and management of
their natural resources.
Washtenaw Housing Alliance
A coalition of ten non-profit organizations that serve the homeless or
those at risk of homelessness. These non-profit organizations are
independently operated and have been offering a vast array of services
within Washtenaw County for over 283 years collectively.
Washtenaw Intermediate School
District
Regional educational service agency serving the school districts of Ann
Arbor, Chelsea, Dexter, Lincoln, Manchester,Milan, Saline, Whitmore Lake,
Willow Run, Ypsilanti and public school academies.
Washtenaw Literacy
A community, volunteer- based, non-profit agency serving Washtenaw County,
Michigan. Washtenaw Literacy\'s trained volunteers provide adults free
instruction in basic communication skills that enable individuals to reach
their goals.

Wireless Washtenaw
Wireless Washtenaw is an exciting new initiative for the Washtenaw
community. The goal for this project is to provide a wireless network
for the urban, suburban and rural settings in 2007.
