Ypsilanti Township

Fire Protection

Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided be Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 2.8 ($2.80 per $1,000), for a period of four (4) years from 2009-2012 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for fire protection, prevention, rescue services and equipment reserves?  The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $4,380,502.

Police Protection

Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 3.5 ($3.50 per $1,000), for a period of four (4) years from 2009-2012 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for law enforcement services, community policing/neighborhood watch and ordinance enforcement?  The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $5,475,627.

Recreation

Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 1.0059 ($1.01 per $1,000), for a period of four (4) years from 2009-2012 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for recreation/park facilities, bike paths, repair of sidewalks, roads and general operating purposes?  The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $1,573,695.

Refuse

Shall the Charter Township of Ypsilanti be authorized to levy and increase the limitations of the total amount of general ad valorem taxes which may be imposed in any one year upon real and tangible personal property in the Charter Township of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw County, Michigan, as provided by Section 6 of Article IX of the Constitution of Michigan, 1963, from 0.0 to 1.68 ($1.68 per $1,000), for a period of four (4) years from 2009-2012 both inclusive, for the purpose of providing revenues for garbage, refuse collection, recycling, composting, disposal of solid waste, energy conservation, alternative energy, water quality, and environmental protection?  The first year of this levy shall generate estimated revenue of $2,628,301.

Chelsea Area Fire Authority

Millage Proposal

Shall the Chelsea Area Fire Authority, County of Washtenaw, Michigan, levy 1.80 mills ($1.80 on each $1,000 dollars of taxable value) against all taxable real and tangible personal property within the limits of the Chelsea Area Fire Authority for a period of five (5) years, 2009 to 2013 inclusive, to provide funds for all purposes authorized by statute, including operating and equipping the Authority; and shall the Authority levy such new additional millage for said purpose; the estimate of the revenue the Authority will collect if 1.80 mills is approved and levied by the Authority in the 2009 calendar year is approximately $1,453,100.  By law the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority may receive a small portion of the mills collected from the Chelsea Downtown Development Authority District only.

Chelsea School District

Bonding Proposal

Shall Chelsea School District, Washtenaw and Jackson Counties, Michigan, borrow the sum of not to exceed Eighteen Million Seven Hundred Twenty Thousand Dollars ($18,720,000) and issue its general obligation unlimited tax bonds there for, in one or more series, for the purpose of:  erecting, furnishing and equipping additions to and partially remodeling, furnishing and refurnishing, equipping and re-equipping school facilities; acquiring, installing and equipping educational technology for school facilities; purchasing school buses; constructing, equipping, developing and improving physical education/athletic facilities, play fields, and playgrounds; erecting storage buildings; and developing and improving sites?

Saline Area Schools

Public Recreation

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Saline Area Schools, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed .50 mill ($0.50 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2009 to 2018, inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for operating a system of public recreation and playgrounds; if approved, the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect for such recreational program the first year of levy, 2009, is approximately $835,193?

Building and Site Sinking Fund Levy

Shall the limitation on the amount of taxes which may be assessed against all property in Saline Area Schools, Washtenaw County, Michigan, be increased by and the board of education be authorized to levy not to exceed .35 mill ($0.35 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation) for a period of 10 years, 2009 to 2018, inclusive, to create a sinking fund for the purchase of real estate for sites for, and the construction or repair of school buildings and all other purposes authorized by law; the estimate of the revenue the school district will collect if the millage is approved and levied in 2009 is approximately $584,635?
