THE REGISTER OF DEEDS OFFICE IS TEMPORARILY LOCATED IN THE LOWER LEVEL OF 200 N. MAIN ST. IN DOWNTOWN ANN ARBOR.
** Attention Property Owners who purchased from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac **
Property owners who purchased from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac may be eligible for a refund of the State Real Estate Transfer Tax (SRETT) associated with said Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac purchase.

In addition, property owners who purchased from Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac between April, 2012 and June, 2013 may be eligible for a refund of the County Real Estate Transfer Tax associated with said Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac purchase.
Formal requests may be made to the Washtenaw County Clerk/Register, Register of Deeds division only AFTER receiving the State Real Estate Transfer Tax refund associated with said Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac purchase.

who have received a letter from a commercial service offering a certified
copy of a deed **
The Washtenaw County Clerk/Register of Deeds is aware that several commercial services have sent letters directly to property owners offering to provide certified copies of their deed via mail for as much as $83.00 per deed.
The same document is available to property owners for as little as $2.00 from the Washtenaw County Register of Deeds Office.
