1. Sheriff

Annual Secondary Road Patrol Grant

• Ratifying the Chair of the Boards signature on the grant application

• To State of Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning

• For the period of 10/1/08 to 9/30/09

• To provide additional road patrol on secondary roads and in state and county parks.

• To support personnel costs for 3.0 FTE deputy positions plus vehicle and operating expenses.

• In the amount of $267,912:
  
  - State Revenue: $267,912
  - County Match: $0

• Indirect costs are not included in the budget

• Upon receipt of the award:
  
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign the notice of grant award
  - Amending the budget
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

2. Prosecuting Attorney

Annual Crime Victim Rights Program

• Ratifying the signature of the Administrator on the application

• To the Michigan Department of Community Health

• For the period of 10/1/08 through 9/30/09

• For funding the Victim/Witness Unit of the Prosecuting Attorneys office.

• Victim/Witness advocates help support victims and witnesses throughout the court process. They aid in preparation for testimony, provide support, and ensure victims and witnesses are informed throughout the process.

• In the amount of $159,100:
  
  - State Revenue: $159,100
  - County Match: $0

• Indirect costs are not included in the budget

• Upon receipt of the award
  
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign the notice of grant award
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

3. Trial Court

CASA Jewelers for Children Grant

• Ratifying the submission of the grant application

• To the National Court Appointed Special Advocate Association (National CASA)

• For the period of 12/1/08 through 11/30/09

• To provide highly trained volunteers to advocate for the needs of abused and neglected children who are the subjects of civil child abuse proceedings.

• To increase the number of volunteers from 27 to 37 and the number of children served from 52 to 75. The grant will allow for more volunteer trainings to take place.

• To enhance our community outreach and volunteer retention efforts.

• In the amount of $10,000:
  
  - Federal Revenue: $10,000
  - County Match: $0

• Indirect costs are not included in the budget

• Upon receipt of the award:
  
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign the notice of grant award
  - Amending the budget
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

Workforce Investment Act (WIA) - Disability Program Navigator (DPN)        ( PLAN)

• To the MI Department of Labor & Economic Growth

• For the period of 7/1/08 to 6/30/09

• To increase capacity building and staff training around serving people with disabilities

• In the amount of $10,000:
  
  - Federal Revenue: $10,000
  - County Match: $0

• Indirect costs are not eligible for reimbursement under this grant

• Upon receipt of the award:
  
  - Authorizing the Administrator to sign the notice of grant award
  - Amending the budget

Reaffirming the 2009 Budget      ( PRESENTATION)

• Reaffirming the second year of the adopted 2008/09 biennial budget

Transfer of Library for the Blind and Physically Disabled (LBPD)

• Authorizing the transfer of the LBPD

• To the Ann Arbor District Library

• With the commitment to retain programs and services on a county-wide basis

• Transition to be complete by January 1, 2009

• Saving the county $546,532 in the 2009 budget
