ETCS

Annual Summer Food Service Program for Children

· Authorizing the electronic submission of the application

· To the Michigan Department of Education

· For the period of 6/16/08 to 8/29/08

· To provide breakfasts, lunches, and snacks at no cost to children from low-income families at 30 recreation and community facilities in the Ann Arbor – Ypsilanti area

· For the total program of $170,000

- Federal Revenue: $135,000

- CSBG Subsidy: $35,000

· Indirect costs are not included in this budget

· Upon receipt of the award:

- Amending the budget

- Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

Children’s Well-Being Community of Interest

Head Start

Annual Head Start Program

· Authorizing the signature of the Chair of the Board on the application

· To the United States Department of Health & Human Services

· For the period of 8/1/08 to 7/31/09

· To provide pre-school services to 561 children between the ages of 3 and 5 and their families

· Head Start is a comprehensive, two-generational child development program geared towards breaking the cycle of poverty through educational, health, nutrition, social, emotional and cognitive services

· For a total program of $4,998,900:
-Federal Revenue: $3,717,411 ($3,577,057 Head Start; $140,354 USDA)
-Match: $1,281,489 ($867,565 cash; $413,924 in-kind)

· Indirect costs of $167,974 are included in the budget

· Upon receipt of the award:
-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget
-Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts
