Support Services Community of Interest

Infrastructure & Planning

  1. Fiber Optic Network

· Authorizing the County Administrator to sign the contract with Fiberlink, Inc. contingent on the sale of bonds

· In the amount not to exceed $2,748,834

· To build a fiber optic network to serve key County sites

RECOMMENDATION: Approval

  1. Notice of Intent to Sell Bonds and Continuing Disclosure for Capital Improvements  (Resolution 1) (Resolution 2)

· Authorizing the Notice of Intent to sell bonds for capital improvement projects

· In the amount not to exceed $15,620,000 ($12,600,000 for construction of a new 14A-1 District Court and $2,750,000 for construction of a new wide area fiber optic network to be owned by the County)

· Repayment of the 14A-1 District Court portion is over a 20 year period

· Repayment of the fiber optic network portion is over a 10 year period

· Authorizing continuing disclosure for the sale of bonds in relation to construction of 14A-1 District Court and fiber optic network as approved

· Required by the Securities and Exchange Commission

· Provides for updated financial information to bond purchasers

RECOMMENDATION: Approval

B.

Office of the Administrator

Safe Havens – Supervised Visitation Grant

· Ratifying the signature of the Administrator on the application

· To the United States Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women

· For the period of 10/1/08 – 10/1/11

· To coordinate a systematic response to all cases of Inter Personal Violence (IPV) and reduce the reoccurrence of domestic violence while providing a safe and comfortable atmosphere for visitation and exchange

· For a total program of $400,000

-Federal Revenue: $400,000

· Upon receipt of the award:

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign notice of grant award

-Amending the budget

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign delegate contracts

RECOMMENDATION: Approval at the Board
