2007 Annual Emergency Food Assistance Program

Ratifying the Administrator’s signature on the application

To the Michigan Department of Education

For the period of 10/1/06 to 9/30/07

• Created in 1981 to distribute surplus USDA-purchased food to supplement the diets of eligible individuals, including elderly, unemployed and low income people. Eligibility is based on household income levels.
• By providing surplus USDA-purchased food to local agencies that they have selected, often food banks, which distribute the food to soup kitchens and to food pantries that directly serve the public.
• Serves approximately 625 families per quarterly distribution, for a total of 2,500 families.

• For a total program of $13,136
  -Federal Revenue: $13,136
  -Match: $0
  -Indirect Costs: $0

• Upon receipt of the award:

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget
-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the delegate contracts

Children’s Well-Being Community of Interest

Children’s Services

Pfizer Grant for Washtenaw Area Teens for Tomorrow

-Ratifying the submission of the electronic grant application

-To Pfizer Global Research & Development Foundation

-For the period of June 1, 2007 to December 31, 2007

-To sponsor a countywide Teen Festival of the Arts

-Through the Teen Center Without Walls (TCW2) project

-The event will be expanded to two days due to the high participation rate (600+ people) in 2006

• For a total program of $20,000:
  -Revenue: $20,000
  -Match: $0
  -Indirect Costs: $0

• Upon receipt of the award:

-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the Notice of Grant Award
-Amending the budget
-Authorizing the Administrator to sign the delegate contracts

Health Community of Interest

Community Support & Treatment Services

2006-07 Budget Adjustment

-Approving a budget amendment in the amount of $168,216 for CSTS

-CSTS has received additional funding from WCHO to provide clinical services to adolescents and young adults at risk for the development of schizophrenia

• Creating a 1.0 FTE Specialized Program Supervisor position:
  -Grade 80, Group 10
  -Salary Range: $59,997 - $80,196

• Creating a 1.0 FTE Mental Health Nurse position:
  -Grade 23, Group 11
  -Salary Range: $40,743 - $53,056

• Creating a 1.0 FTE Mental Health Professional position:
  -Grade 21, Group 11
  -Salary Range: $37,861 - $49,206

• Creating a 1.0 FTE Client Service Manager position:
  -Grade 19, Group 11
  -Salary Range: $35,279 - $43,948

• Authorizing the Administrator to amend the 2006-07 CSTS-WCHO contract (no additional general fund support is needed)

• Washtenaw County, via WCHO, is one of three sites selected nationwide to receive a four year foundation grant

• To replicate an evidence-based practice that has been demonstrated to reduce the onset of schizophrenia

• Community partners will include educational institutions, the Courts, the Department of Human Services, and the Children’s Services Department
